4 ways to make a twenty-something year old girl smile this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is a little bit like marmite, you either LOVE it or you HATE it, but whichever side you take you love your valentine (or galentine), right? And you want to make them happy?

No worries, I’ve got your back. Here are some of my favourite things you can do this valentine’s day that will guarantee a smile on the face of any twenty-something year old girl:

1.Buy her a funny card

I’ll admit, it’s not for everyone, some girls live for a soppy valentine’s day card, so if you’re valentines is one of those girls then you should probably ignore my advice. If not, then a funny card is a great way to make a girl smile this valentines day.

It’s become a little bit of competition in my relationship and every year me and Harry challenge each other to buy the rudest/silliest/funniest cards we can find – after all, nothing says ‘i love you’ more than a card exhibiting the words ‘you make my legs go soft and my willy hard’.

Paperchase, Scribbler and Love Layla all have some absolute crackers this year, so I’ll leave you with these links and my bad influence.

1.Plan the ultimate movie night

Valentines day on hump day? Whose idea was that? Well, who’s ever idea it was it does mean that most girls will be working and if they’re anything like me, a day at work = excessive exhaustion. So what’s more perfect than a nice chilled evening? ER nothing.

All you’ve got to do is stock up on her favourite snacks, choose a few of her favourite movies and prepare a cosy place to watch the movies. And VOILA you’ve got the perfect valentine’s date night and a (hopefully) smiling valentine.

3.Get crafty

This is one of my most favourite valentines day date night ideas (Harry, this is a subtle hint) and it’s easier than you think.

Pinterest is your new best friend! Honestly I could scroll for hours looking at all the cute ideas being suggested. You just need to decide what to make, get the bits you need and you’re on your way.

4.A thoughtful gift

A thoughtful gift? Why didn’t I think of that?

I know I know, nothing like stating the obvious, but as it goes, I’ve received some really simple gifts from Harry in the past that have just made me smile because of the thought he’d put into it.

One of my all time favourites was a personalised love print (you can buy them here). It was a super simple gift that had ‘i know you’ written all over it, definitely one for the old romantics amongst you.

Happy Valentines everyone, I wish you all the love in the world.
